Mission 43

Crew: Howard Turek & Mike Weimert

Feburary 4 – 6, 2017 Texas to Florida

During his 3rd tour in Iraq, CPT Juan G. had both legs severely damaged after his vehicle was struck by a 7-array EFP. Juan and his medic quickly applied tourniquets to both legs. Due to the severity of his injury, his doctors were forced to take his right leg below the knee. Juan spend three years trying to save his left leg, however he was forced to amputate the left leg and is now a double BK amputee.
Juan and his family wanted to attend a family reunion in Florida being he had not seen his extended family since 2010. It was an honor and privilege to fly this veteran, his wife and two children to Florida to attend his family reunion to spend time with his family & friends. Thank You, CPT Juan G. for your dedicated service to Our Country, we will forever be in your debt.

A kind note from JJ –

Again JJ it was truly an honor & pleasure to be able to meet you and get to know you and your lovely family during our short flight.

Dear Veterans Airlift Command:

On behalf of my family, I would like to thank you for your generosity, continued support, and dedication for the betterment of all Wounded Warriors lives.

We were fortunate enough to have been selected as recipients of your program.

You provided us with a round-trip flight to Miami FL, allowing us the opportunity to visit my family after a 6-year absence from home. My family is grateful to you, the aircraft owners, and your volunteer pilots.

It is sometimes hard to fully express how one feels when given such a gift; I can simply say to you that you brought a weekend of happiness and lifelong memories for our family, all made possible by the generosity of your donors and the support of your staff.

We would like to express our gratitude to Veterans Evaluation Services, for providing ‘HRF510”, and of course, particular thanks go to our great pilots, Howard Turek and Michael Weimert, their professionalism and enthusiasm made our trip an incredible experience.

Again, I am honored to have been a recipient of your organization’s programs; we highly appreciate your help and look forward to being a part of your programs in the future.
Juan J. G.
